# VS Code (GitHub Copilot)

### Complete prerequisites

Follow the [Prerequisites](/agentic-ai-hub/mcp/prerequisites) guide to install Python, uvx, and get your Paradex private key.

### Add the Paradex MCP server

Create a `.vscode/mcp.json` file in the root of your project folder (create the `.vscode` folder if it doesn't exist):

Replace `your_private_key_here` with your actual key.

### Reload VS Code

Reload the window — the tools will appear in Copilot Chat.

### Verify it's working

Ask your AI assistant:

> "What markets are available on Paradex?"

If you get a list of trading pairs, you're connected.

To test trading access, ask:

> "Show me my Paradex account summary."

> Connect the Paradex MCP server to VS Code in a few steps.
