## Price Protection

Orders in CANCEL\_ONLY and POST\_ONLY modes must be within **±5 bps** of the External Fair Price. Orders outside this band are automatically canceled.

### Example

BTC with an External Fair Price of \$100,000:

| | Band Limit | Accepted | Auto-Canceled |
| ---- | ---------- | ----------------- | ----------------- |
| Buy | \$100,050 | Price ≤ \$100,050 | Price > \$100,050 |
| Sell | \$99,950 | Price ≥ \$99,950 | Price \< \$99,950 |

### How the External Fair Price Is Calculated

$\text{External Fair Price} = \text{Spot Oracle Price} \times (1 + \text{External Basis Rate})$

$\text{External Basis Rate} = \operatorname{median}(\text{Binance},\ \text{OKX},\ \text{Bybit},\ \text{Hyperliquid},\ \text{Paradex}^*)$

\* Paradex Basis is calculated as an EMA with a 1h half-life.
